USERRA
What is USERRA?
Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) protects the job rights of individuals who voluntarily or involuntarily leave employment positions to undertake military service. USERRA also prohibits an employer from denying any benefit of employment on the basis of an individual’s membership, application of membership, performance of service, application for service, or obligation of service in the uniformed services.
What Employer Compliance is Required?
Employers are required to provide to persons entitled to the rights and benefits under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), a notice of the rights, benefits and obligations of such personnel and such employers under USERRA. The USERRA notice may be posted where labor relations notices are posted.
